Justice for Josh

To coincide with the one-year anniversary of Josh Park-Fing’s tragic death at his Work for the Dole death, the Australian Unemployed Workers’ Union is holding a Rally outside Centrelink HQ in Darlinghurst.

1. The Department release the report into Josh Park-Fing’s tragic death at this Work for the Dole site; and

2. The dangerous Work for the Dole program be shut down.

According to an Ernst & Young report into Work for the Dole safety released in February 2017, 36% of Work for the Dole sites do not meet basic safety standards.

As a result of the Government’s failure to ensure basic safety standards at Work for the Dole, injuries have increase five times in 2016.

This is a national disgrace.

How long will it be before we get a another death or serious injury at Work for the Dole?

It must be shut down.

Speakers:

Ged Kearney (President, ACTU)
Sophie Johnstone (President, NUS)
David Thompson (CEO, Jobs Australia)
Lisa Newman (Deputy National President, CPSU)
Sue Bolton (Moreland City Councillor, Socialist Alliance)
